Marva Nieves
Grade 5 Hello! I'm Marva Nieves. I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan; a Dutch city filled with pleasant people like me. I attended Wilberforce University in Ohio, then earned my ESOL certification at George Washington University. I've been teaching at Harmony Hills for 7 months. I love my career, when you teach English as a second language, your lessons extend beyond just the students. Many times students will take what I have taught them and teach it to their parents, younger siblings, and extended family members. This is inspiring to know that what I am teaching is passed on to help others.

Grade 4 Hi! I’m Alice Moore, and I’m excited to be part of the Harmony Hills ESOL team! I am double certified as an ESOL teacher and as a reading specialist. I have spent over twenty years in MCPS teaching ESOL, academic intervention, and reading. I believe that all students can succeed, and I help my students learn to believe in themselves as well as learn to become better listeners, speakers, readers, and writers of English.

Grades 1 & 2 I’m thrilled to be teaching ESOL at Harmony Hills! I love getting to know my students and their families, teaching writing, and making people laugh. When I’m not teaching, you can find me spending time with my family or trying to catch up on sleep!
